Many men have lost their fire.
Their flame is out.
The passion is gone.
What used to work as a fire-starter no longer works.
But they still remember what it felt like to be incandescent.
To emit both heat and light.
It’s never too late to reignite.
Are you ready to BURN STRONG?
TL;DR
Here’s the summary. My PURPOSE here is to support/challenge men to:
- pursue and achieve high-impact goals
- push themselves into discomfort in order to stretch towards their greater potential
- develop vibrant masculinity built on a foundation of classical character strengths
It Starts with ASPIRATION...
What can you SEE?
What’s POSSIBLE?
See further.
Think bigger.
Your potential is amazing.
What future scenario is compelling for you?
How would you love to perform? To be?
What are you driven to achieve?
What do you want your life to look like?
What future vision evokes enthusiasm, positive energy, and excitement?
Which is Anchored in PURPOSE...
Our purpose pertains to our “WHY” – WHY do we want to pursue a particular path, goal, or future scenario?
Often people fail or get stuck simply because they’ve lost a compelling purpose.
Purpose is your FUEL.
Without sufficient fuel, you stall out.
Finding, clarifying, or rediscovering your purpose is your strong foundation.
Without a strong purpose, you’re building your life, your future on sand.
And Considers ALIGNMENT...
Your car runs best when its wheels are in alignment.
Your body moves best when your spine is in alignment.
An orchestra sounds best when all players have parts that fit with all the other parts.
A mason builds a strong wall when his bricks are lined up correctly with each other.
When we think of “personal alignment,” what parts of you need to be harmoniously lined up with the other parts of you?
For example, are your goals aligned with your vision?
Is your vision aligned with your core values?
There are about 10 other areas of alignment we need to get straight.
We live our lives most effectively when all of our “parts” are in alignment and “marching” in the same direction.
MIS-alignment cause FRICTION. Friction slows us down, and is draining, and may even bring us to a grinding halt.
Always Focusing on ACTION...
Nothing ever changes without action.
Smart action.
Focused action.
Bold action.
Action that comes from a game plan.
An aspiration without action is just a nice idea.
Often the difference between success and failure is action.
Staying Connected to STRENGTHS...
EVERYONE has strengths. Do you know yours?
And if you know them, are you using them?
We feel more alive, empowered, and useful when we’re exercising our strengths.
We feel bored, stuck, and lost when we’re not.
Step 1: know your strengths–all of them.
Step 2: use them regularly.
Step 3: keep developing them even further.
Taking 100% RESPONSIBILITY...
Whether you rise or fall is up to YOU.
And HOW FAR you rise or fall is up to YOU.
No excuses.
YOU are responsible for your mistakes. Correct them and learn.
And try again.
You may not be responsible for the hand you were dealt, what others did to you, or any injustices that have come your way.
You, and you alone are, however, COMPLETELY responsible for what you do with those situations.
Whine or win. It’s always your choice.
And that Fire WILL Start Growing
GROWTH is always progressive and incremental. That is the nature of growth.
Sure, we’ve all experienced growth spurts, and those are fun to experience.
But solid growth is best attained the “old fashioned” way–progressive, sequential, incremental.
And this is how a fire is built.
Kindling, sticks, logs, fire, maintenance. Or, keep adding logs and build a stronger fire.
I’ve laid out above a few ingredients to reignite your fire, or to build it the first time.
Of course, there are NUMEROUS other ingredients I could’ve mentioned, that are equally important, which, by the way, I DO cover with my private clients.
But those mentioned here are foundational.
Execute them diligently, and persevere, and your fire will return and grow.
Work With Me
I work privately with my clients for 1:1 coaching.
All my other coaching programs are on hold until further notice. This is the only way to work with me, at present.
It is my most personal option.
I am also a professional clinical counselor, but THIS is not THAT.
Coaching is a different service, experience, focus, and method, than counseling/therapy. Though, there is overlap.
But you will get the benefit of being coached by someone who also has expertise as a counselor.
In my model, coaching is a series of powerful conversations, focused on taking bold action, for the purpose of achieving high-impact goals.
- get deeper clarity about your direction
- practice being deliberate and intentional, leaning into your life, taking smart action towards your most meaningful goals
- consistently take a 100% offensive mindset, so that you’re “playing to win” rather than simply “playing to not lose“
- breaking through barriers and stuck-points, and expanding your capacity to live a fuller, richer life
What RESULTS Could You Expect?
That depends on YOU!
Similar to someone hiring a personal trainer and desiring to build their strength, get in shape, or lose 40 lbs, their progress ultimately is up to themselves.
Whether or not they achieve their goal of losing those 40 lbs rests squarely on their shoulders and no one else’s.
That said, what results COULD be possible, depending on what you’re wanting to work on, and the effort you put in?
- greater energy and vigor
- clarity of direction
- improved personal/professional performance
- becoming more purpose-driven
- standing firm in your “position”
- empowered in your boundaries
- committing to excellence
- nurturing your character strengths
- achieving high-impact goals
- as men, rootedness in healthy masculinity and living out of the manhood deeply embedded in your DNA
- clarifying your personal code of conduct
- greater calmness
- forward-leaning
- action mindset
- growth orientation
- greater emotional intelligence
- responsive not reactive
- driven by principle rather than anxiety or pressure
- living according to your best thinking rather than the emotional intensity of those around you
WHEN Could You Use a Coach?
There are a few circumstances where having a Coach will be helpful.
You only need ONE of these for coaching to be useful:
- want accountability
- need clarity of direction
- lack of focus and intention
- want to be more goal-directed
- desire faster progress
- tired of being stuck
- need to level up and play a bigger game
- want to elevate your performance
This is a quick list. If any of these apply to you, then consider calling me.
It's About 2 Things: 1st THE GOAL
My coaching is simple and straightforward. It’s centered around you creating, pursuing, and hitting your most important target.
Your target, or GOAL, comes from things like your aspirations, your vision, and your preferred future.
Now, if you can’t create and shape a compelling goal, and turn it into a clear target, then you’re not ready to work with me, YET.
You may have some prep work first, so you can come to the table with this clear, compelling goal.
I have a number of powerful reasons that “doing goals” is crucial for all of us. But you know the BIGGEST reason we all need to be working towards goals?
Jim Rohn said it best:
“The major reason for setting a goal is for what it makes of you to accomplish it. What it makes of you will always be of far greater value than what you get.”
And also:
“The ultimate reason for setting goals is to entice you to become the person it takes to achieve them.”
Which leads us to our next idea . . .
2nd, It's About GROWTH
Disciplining yourself to stay the course and pursue meaningful goals will require you to EXIT your comfort zone and ENTER the discomfort zone.
This is the ONLY way growth ever happens.
It’s often not fun, but it’s always necessary–that discomfort zone reality.
So then, your goals are the VEHICLE for 2 powerful things to happen:
- To MATERIALIZE a preferred future (or an improved aspect of yourself)
- To STIMULATE personal growth as a result of stretching yourself into the discomfort of achievement
I want all my clients, above all things, to grow. I’m always looking for ways to challenge them to make this happen.
If you become a client, it might be hard, like an intense workout, but you will thank me later, when you see the fruit of your labor.
OR, you can avoid all this, take the easy path, and stay the same. Your choice. Enjoying the status quo is always an option.
MY Purpose
I want men to thrive, excel, and live abundantly full lives.
In many ways, men have been under attack for a long time.
Much of this is warranted, being the result of the bad behavior of men.
For these things, men seriously need to be held accountable and do better. A lot better.
But while this is true on the one hand, on the other hand men offer the world something extremely valuable.
Much of the “good” that we see in the world today and throughout history has been the direct result of men’s skill, intelligence, and hard work.
From the dawn of time, men have contributed by: building things–bridges over dangerous gorges; railroads through mountainous terrain; structures to store things and reside in; roads to traverse on; aqueduct systems to pipe in water from miles away; massive dam structures to regulate the flow of rivers; villages-towns-cities-societies-countries; moving things–clearing land of massive trees, iron-like root systems, and heavy boulders; providing things–taming and farming land, often in unforgiving conditions, to provide food; hunting and fishing, often at great risk and in dangerous conditions; protecting things–standing at “the gate” and protecting loved ones and valuable resources from “man and animal” wanting to do harm, often sacrificing their own lives; exploring things–and thereby making valuable discoveries in oceans, space, and circumnavigation; inventing things–the wheel, the printing press, the steam engine, electricity/the light bulb, the telephone, the airplane, the internal combustion engine, antibiotics/penicillin, the plow, cement, the lens, paper, vaccines, the computer, the automobile, etc.
Of course, women are ALSO responsible for their invaluable contributions and a great deal of the good in the world, as well–too numerous to count! MY focus, however, is building up and encouraging men.
Generally speaking, there are things men can usually do better than women, just as there are plenty of things women can usually do better than men.
We all know this, even if it’s not popular to voice it.
This strength of men has led to many societal blessings, as mentioned above.
We need that strong male spirit active in our families, our communities, and our world.
But due to the bad behavior of men previously mentioned, men are being diminished, disempowered, and even “cancelled.”
This extends to a revised, modern philosophy for how to raise boys, which doesn’t work. The “experts” have spoken, and are damaging generations.
Many of these researchers, so-called experts, and influencers have had good motives. But they’ve been misguided and have taken it too far.
As a result of all this, men are often confused about their roles and responsibilities.
They intuitively know what they should be doing and how they should be stepping up and acting, but are now second-guessing themselves more than ever before.
Many are so confused that they actually DON’T know how to act and what to do.
And, many have simply acquiesced to the spirit of the age and have surrendered their manhood to the cultural “gods.”
As a result, many men are depressed, sensing in some way they’re betraying who they are.
Others are highly anxious. Still others, lost and confused.
The logical end of this cultural shift will eventually become tragic for society as a whole.
You can’t simply “remove” men from society without grave repercussions, regardless of the arrogant musings of the radical elite.
It may take another generation or two to see the full extent of this negative impact, but we’re already seeing some of the effects now.
Personally, I don’t think it will get to that point. I’m hoping the pendulum will swing back to something more balanced and reasonable.
I desire for men to recover a healthy manhood and restore a vibrant masculinity.
For men to be GOOD men, of sterling, virtuous character, and bringing this strength of moral excellence into the world, daily practicing things like courage, fortitude, self-control, justice, fidelity, kindness, generosity, and bravery.
What these things mean to me, no sane person would argue about. These things would be good for all of society.
So then, men’s flame doesn’t need to be dimmed, it needs to be stoked to burn with an intensity that brings with it greater goodness to the world.
For men to grow into their greater potential, making a super-positive impact in their corner of the universe.
These qualities are built and developed. Men need places to build these qualities, and to take bold action to grow and stretch themselves, so they become MORE of themselves, not less.
I provide men with such a place.

Who Am I?
My name is Sean Patrick Cox, from the great city of Chicago. For the past 4 decades I’ve been enjoying the privilege of partnering with people to assist them in living lives of deep purpose, strong passion, and high performance.
This hasn’t simply been a “hobby”, side gig, or some mid-career transition. This has always been THE sole focus in my professional life, though it’s also played a huge part in my personal life as well, all the way back to my teen age years.
High performance, personal growth, the healing path, and “decoding greatness” are topics that consume me and fill my brain, and are the things I constantly read about, ponder, and consult with clients on everyday.
I don’t pretend to know everything, but I have much experience with a wide diversity of clientele, who I’ve been very honored to work with and learn from.
I’ve learned a few things along the way, testing and re-testing different frameworks and protocols, and developing my own best practices and methodology that you can’t figure out simply by reading a book or two – it takes field testing, practice, repetition, experience, and a lot of work over many years.
Some of my personal interests are biblical theology, traditional karate and its modern application, physical training, reading, and good conversation…and going for a long walk.
